Member of Parliament for Labrador Yvonne Jones will be in St John’s today and tomorrow meeting with provincial cabinet Ministers, Nalcor officials, and Muskrat Falls unions to discuss a number of issues in Labrador:
“This week in St. John’s I look forward to holding productive meetings on many important issues affecting Labrador including the lack of reliable internet service, fisheries allocations, water issues, road paving contracts, ferry/ice problems, job recruitment at Muskrat Falls, social concerns from Natuashish, and laid-off workers in Labrador West. Unfortunately, neither the Premier nor the Minister of Natural Resources is available, but I will be meeting with other Ministers of the Crown on these issues.”
MP Jones also discussed the importance of these meetings:
“Labradorians are dealing with several major issues on different regions that the Provincial government of Newfoundland and Labrador needs to address as soon as possible. As part of my ongoing dialogue on these issues, my meetings in person will keep them in the forefront for the government and ensure that Labrador gets the support it deserves. I will be available to the media tomorrow to discuss these issues and the outcomes of these meetings.”
