Quotes

As Member of Parliament for Labrador, I am proud of the work that our Government has already been able to accomplish for communities across Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador. These investments are critical to help grow local economies, build stronger and more inclusive communities, and safeguard the environment and health of Canadians for years to come. Specifically, the upgrades to the Rigolet water system with new pressure reducing valves will reduce the water pressure coming from the main waterline bringing the pressure to a safe level before water reaches plumbing fixtures inside the home. This investment will ensure that the Rigolet community has a water system that is efficient, cost-effective and protects homes from unnecessary damage due to excessive water pressure.

– Yvonne Jones, Member of Parliament for Labrador, on behalf of the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities

“The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is working with all governments to leverage available infrastructure funding and build safe and sustainable communities. In Rigolet, we are investing more than $500,000 to upgrade the water system to provide clean and safe drinking water for residents and visitors.”

– Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment and MHA for Cartwright – L’Anse au Clair
