Yvonne Jones, Member of Parliament for Labrador, on behalf of the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and Hon. Lisa Dempster, MHA for Cartwright – L’Anse au Clair and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, today announced funding for an infrastructure project in Rigolet.

The project consists of community funding for upgrades to water and sewer system, new PRVs and Air Release Valve. This project will provide Labrador residents with more efficient water and sewer services.

The Government of Canada, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the local Municipal governments are investing $1,251,587into this project through the Investing in Canada infrastructure plan.

• Through the Investing in Canadainfrastructure plan, the Government of Canada is investing more than $180 billion over 12 years in public transit projects, green infrastructure, social infrastructure, trade and transportation routes, and Canada’s rural and northern communities.
• $26.9 billion of this funding is supporting green infrastructure projects, including $5 billion available for investment through the Canada Infrastructure Bank.
• $25.3 billion of this funding is supporting social infrastructure in Canadian communities.
