Good morning Roberta,
I am deeply saddened to learn of Jim’s death he will he missed by many people across Labrador.
Knowing Jim the way we did, I am sure he did not go without a fight. His stamina to fight is unparalleled by few. I am truly sorry for your loss and send my condolences on behalf of all Labradorians.
Jim Learning will always be a household name in Labrador, driven by his love and passion for our homeland he took up the gauntlet when it needed to be carried. He was never deterred by its size or weight for his convictions alone gave him the strength he needed.
Jim never sought to intimidate but to educate and he was often creative in bringing his message forward. I have many great memories of Jim Learning as do all who knew him. I will always be thankful for his work to erect the Labrador Flag on the Border and for so many other caucuses he championed.
I am thinking of you and his family and friends who loved him very much. May the memories you created together cover you like a warm blanket in these sad and dark days.
I am thinking of all those Jim inspired on his journey, those who carried the gauntlet with him on challenging days and those who laughed with him in brighter moments. May you always be inspired by the convictions of your friend and carry those memories on your journey.
Jim was a mighty environmental pillar of the people. He was a brother of this land and a son of Labrador. On behalf of all Labradorians, please accept our deepest sympathy on the death of Jim and know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
As you meet the difficult days ahead, do so as Jim would have done. Stand tall and take it one day at a time. May the memories of his life comfort you in his death.
Take care Xxoo,
Yvonne
