It is with great sadness that I offer my deepest condolences and gratitude to Minister Seamus O’Regan, his mother Mrs. Janet O’Regan and their family, on the passing of the Honourable Seamus Bernard O'Regan, proud resident of Happy Valley Goose Bay for 14 years and proud resident of Newfoundland and Labrador.
During his time as member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court, O’Regan was a strong ally of Labrador, its indigenous people, particularly the Innu and leaders like the late Bart Jack who worked alongside O’Regan to improve public justice and its institutions in the community.
Through his collaboration and consultation with leaders, O’Regan helped lower incarceration rates, provide paths to addiction treatment and build services within the Innu community.
He remained close to Labrador and shared the beautiful Big Land, its wonderful people and rich culture with his family and friends.
For this and his advocacy over many years, we are so grateful.
I want to express my appreciation for the impactful work O’Regan contributed to Labrador. He is a shining example of what strong, progressive leadership can be.
To all those feeling the loss of this great man, I offer my support, prayers and thoughts to you on behalf of all Labradorians during this difficult time.
Should you wish to send your condolences to the family, you are invited to submit them at the site below. http://www.carnells.com/?obituaries=honourable-seamus-bernard-oregan&fbclid=IwAR1RGNd7WHUFX6ondDIDkZkO-BvmVnu57mY2SoNAU6VHn5qFDebvakEjerw#condolences

Sincerely,
Yvonne Jones Member of Parliament for Labrador
