Honourable Yvonne Jones, Member of Parliament for Labrador and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Northern Affairs is once again excited to award ten more esteemed individuals across Labrador with the Labradorian of Distinction medal.
Created in commemoration of Canada’s 150th celebrations, the Labradorian of Distinction medal recognizes individuals who have contributed to the betterment of the social, cultural and economic development of Labrador.
Through their achievements, advocacy and everyday contribution to their communities and Labrador at large, the 2019 recipients are all well-deserving of this award.
Nominated by their fellow Labradorians, this year’s winners were selected from a slate of highly qualified and influential candidates. Final selections for 2019 were made by the Labradorians of Distinction Selection Committee comprised of past winners and an ex officio:

Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations. All those interested are encouraged to submit again next year.
Over the coming weeks, MP Jones will connect with winners and those accepting the award on their behalf to congratulate them on this great achievement.
Out of respect of Covid-19 health protocols, MP Jones will host formal award ceremonies with recipients and select guests when it is safe to do so.
The winners below join 161 other past winners who have instilled themselves in the fabric of Labrador’s history and its people.
