FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
EMERGENCY COMMUNITY SUPPORT FUND INVESTS $260 000 TO LABRADOR COMMUNITY GROUPS
March 16, 2021
Throughout the pandemic, community organizations play a critical role in supporting Labradorians. Women’s shelters like Libra House in Happy Valley Goose Bay have provided resources to women in Labrador facing gender-based violence. Battle Harbour Assisted Living supports our elderly through advocacy, interactive programming and assistance with daily care routines.
Indigenous organizations and seniors' groups have been there supporting many people across Labrador during Covid-19. Their outreach has provided for food security, virtual interaction and critical care services to those in need.
The federal government has invested over $260 000 through the Emergency Community Support Fund to help these organizations and so many others in Labrador who help our communities navigate this difficult time.
