MP Jones Highlights Federal Funding for Northern Labrador Communities

Yvonne Jones, Member of Parliament for Labrador, is pleased to highlight over $970,000 in recent federal funding for important social programs and infrastructure investments in Northern Labrador communities. An additional $4 million has been invested in clean energy projects and the fishery sector.
With nearly $300,000 invested in social programs and community spaces, residents in Northern Labrador have more everyday amenities available to the community. This includes three new playgrounds in Makkovik and financial support for Kirkina House in Rigolet through the Emergency Community Support Fund.
Improving infrastructure and growing a sustainable economy is a priority for all levels of government. This commitment continues with a total of $4 million invested in clean energy projects, water and sewer upgrades and fishery equipment purchasing through the Atlantic Fish Fund.
