MP Jones To Highlight Federal Funding for Labrador Straits
August 13, 2021
Yvonne Jones, Member of Parliament for Labrador, will highlight over $4.8 million in recent federal funding for communities across the Labrador Straits.
After a difficult time navigating this pandemic, having safe community spaces for residents to connect is important now more than ever. Since 2020, the federal government has invested over $250,000 in community-led projects to improve public space and implement tourism initiatives.
From investing $3.35 million under the Small Craft Harbours program to over $184,000 in financial support for municipal infrastructure projects, the strong partnerships with municipalities, the province and the federal government are making a difference in the Labrador Straits.
These projects follow continued federal funding to support the economic growth and social programming in the Labrador Straits.
