Federal Government Invests in Labrador fisheries

The fishery sector is a significant economic driver creating good jobs and supporting communities across Labrador. In recognition of its importance, the federal government has contributed over $2.2 million in recent funding for Labrador fisheries.
This includes over $530,000 for equipment upgrades to improve productivity and adapt to challenges posed by COVID-19. To further support this vital industry in Labrador, $1 million has been invested to assist with market opportunities and business development within the sector.
In addition to this funding support, the federal government provided support for COVID-19 protocol implementation and safety equipment purchasing.
